Oil on canvas. 12x16 in. 30x40 cm. You stand on the ice of a frozen river. Ice thickness 3 feet. Gusts of wind 60+. The temperature is -22 F (-30 С.). Oil paint freezes. Palette and sketchbox easel are blown away by the wind. It's okay, you can put pieces of ice in a bag and tie it to an easel. And dilute the paint with kerosene. The never-freezing Yenisei is ahead due to the proximity to the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station. Extreme sketches are pleasant to remember at home, near the fireplace with a mug of hot mulled wine.
